Man arrested for 'refusing to leave hotel reception' near Sheffield

Cory Stanley, aged 23, of Burns Road, Maltby, was being abusive at the main reception of the Ibis Hotel, in Bramley, Rotherham, according to a Sheffield Magistrates’ Court hearing on December 5.
Kirsty Pearson, prosecuting, said police responded to reports of an abusive male who was refusing to leave the hotel and when he failed to stop swearing and leave he was arrested.

Hide AdStanley pleaded guilty to being drunk-and-disorderly after the incident on November 7.


Maz Sharif, defending, said Stanley who has been diagnosed with ADHD had been struggling for somewhere to stay during a cold night after he had left his keys at his mother’s home.
Magistrates sentenced Stanley to a six-month conditional discharge but warned if he commits another offence during this time he will be re-sentenced for the drunk-and-disorderly matter. He must pay a £21 victim surcharge.
