The Volkwagen Bora was spotted on false number plates and without insurance and failed to pull over when directed by officers in an unmarked car.

South Yorkshire Police said a police chase was mounted.

“The vehicle inevitably failed to to stop, travelling dangerously during the morning traffic towards Doncaster, where it eventually came to stop going to wrong way round a roundabout and coming head on with a heavy goods vehicle,” the force added.

The driver of this car was arrested for dangerous driving in Rotherham

“The driver gave it the legs but with great team work from drone operators, dog handlers, Doncaster officers and a roads policing sergeant the driver was eventually located on someone's roof.

“He was charged with various offences including the dangerous driving and remanded to prison for that, and the recall to prison matter he was desperately avoiding.”
