Man arrested after burglary in Sheffield as police issue warning to residents this Christmas

A man was arrested after officers were alerted to a burglary in progress in a Sheffield suburb.

Officers were deployed to Station Road, Woodhouse, at around 9.20pm yesterday following reports of a burglary taking place at a house.

They arrested a 23-year-old man on suspicion of burglary and he spent the night in police custody.

South Yorkshire Police has issued a warning about burglars prowling the streets looking for homes to break into in the run up to Christmas.
