Man accused of South Yorkshire care home burglary and assaulting emergency workers

A man has appeared in court accused of burgling a care home and assaulting emergency workers.

Jamie Scargill, aged 31, of no fixed abode, is charged with one count of burglary and two counts of assaulting an emergency worker.

The charges relate to a burglary at a care home in the Athersley area on April 19.

Scargill, who was wanted on recall to prison, has been remanded into custody ahead of another court hearing on May 19.
