Man accused of murder of Sheffield paint sprayer appears in court

A man accused of killing Sheffield paint sprayer Simon Holdsworth appeared in court today.

Shaun Richard Wainwright, aged 45, of Dagnam Road, Arbourthorne, was at Sheffield Crown Court for a preliminary hearing about the case.

No plea was entered and he was remanded in custody ahead of a plea and case management hearing that will take place at a later date this year.

Mr Holdsworth’s body was discovered in a field next to Rainbow Forge Primary School, off Birley Spa Lane, Hackenthorpe, on Tuesday, December 17.

The paint sprayer, from Westfield Avenue, Hackenthorpe, was attacked as he made his way home from work at FBS Prestige in Intake, Sheffield.
