Man accused of attempted murder after Sheffield shooting is due to appear in court

A man accused of attempted murder after a shooting which left a 12-year-old boy seriously injured is to appear in court.

The 25-year-old man was charged on Friday, January 17, in connection with a shooting in the Arbourthorne area of Sheffield in which a 12-year-old boy was seriously injured.Stephen Dunford, of Fellbrigg Road, Sheffield, has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and has been remanded into custody to appear at Sheffield Magistrates Court today, Saturday, January 18.Emergency services were called to Northern Avenue at around 3.45pm, on Sunday, January 12, where the 12-year-old boy was found with a gunshot wound to his leg. He was taken to hospital and remains in a stable condition.Police are appealing for anyone with information to call 101 quoting incident number 516 of January 12.
