Man, 38, stabbed during fight by Tesco superstore in Sheffield

A man was rushed to hospital after being stabbed during a fight close to a Tesco superstore in Sheffield on Monday evening.

Police received a call at around 6.39pm to report a disturbance on Spital Hill, close to Tesco Extra. Officers attended the scene and arrested two men, aged 38 and 39, on suspicion of assault.

The 38-year-old was taken to hospital with a stab wound, where he remains, police said. His injuries are not thought to be serious. The 39-year-old remains in custody as police enquiries continue.

A police cordon was in place outside the shops near the supermarket last night while officers investigated the incident.

The police are now appealing for information about what happened.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has mobile phone or dashcam footage that might help enquiries, is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 760 of 24 August.
