Man, 32, found dead at cannabis farm in Sheffield

A 32-year-old man has been found dead at a house in Sheffield, where a large number of cannabis plants were also discovered.

Police were called to a house on Rockley Road in Middlewood, where the man’s body was found, yesterday, Sunday, July 12, at around 5.45pm.

South Yorkshire Police said: “His death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries to ascertain the exact circumstances of his death are continuing.

“A large cannabis cultivation was also discovered at the property.”

The house, which is close to Sheffield Wednesday’s ground at Hillsborough, was under police guard for most of Sunday.

Neighbours said forensic officers had spent hours examining the property and the area around it, and officers remained at the scene this afternoon.

Officers have appealed for people to get in touch if they believe they have any information which could help with the investigation.

They should call police on 101, quoting incident number 261 of July 13.
