They were travelling along Pontefract Road, Oakwell, Barnsley, last night when they spotted an abandoned car at the side of the road.

When the officers approached the vehicle they found an unresponsive man inside.

Attempts were made by the emergency services to resuscitate the 29-year-old but he was pronounced dead a short time later.

South Yorkshire Police said the death is not being treated as suspicious.
