Man, 18, seriously injured in Sheffield shooting discharged from hospital

A young man seriously injured in a shooting in a Sheffield street has been discharged from hospital but needs further treatment.

The 18-year-old was seriously injured when a gun was fired during a fight on Queens Road, Heeley, on Thursday, March 18.

He was taken to hospital and spent a week receiving treatment and although he has since been discharged, South Yorkshire Police said he will require ‘ongoing treatment’.

Four arrests were made in Sheffield yesterday as part of the police probe into the shooting.

One man was arrested at a flat in the Kelham Gate development in Kelham Island and three others were arrested at a property on Preston Street, Sharrow.

A 19-year-old held on suspicion of attempted murder and drug offences was recalled to prison until June 2022 after questioning.

A 48-year-old man arrested on suspicion of the same offences was bailed after questioning.

Two other men, aged 28 and 45, arrested on suspicion of drug offences, were later released.
