A tram is stuck behind the abandoned vehicle and has reportedly been in situ for 50 minutes.

As a result of the incident, trams are unable to run between Cathedral and Shalesmoor.

Stagecoach Supertram said: “Due to a police incident blocking West Street trams are unable to serve the city centre and are operating from Meadowhall and Gleadless Townend to Cathedral or from Middlewood/Malin Bridge to Shalesmoor.”
