SHEFFIELD Wednesday striker Gary Madine has appeared at court charged with affray and wounding with intent.
The 22-year-old, from Middlewood, Sheffield, is alleged to have been involved in a disturbance in the city centre on March 11 this year.
He appeared before Sheffield magistrates on Friday and had his case transferred to Sheffield Crown Court.
He is due to appear at crown court on Tuesday, November 13.
Magistrates granted the footballer bail until his next court hearing.
One of the conditions of his bail is that he does not enter Sheffield city centre.
Madine, who was born in Gateshead, joined Sheffield Wednesday in January 2011. He began his footballing career with Carlisle United in 2007.
The striker has also played for Chesterfield, Rochdale and Coventry City.
