London Road shooting: Update and plea after 'horrendous' gun attack leaves boy, 16, fighting for life
Police in Sheffield have issued a plea for help after a “horrendous” shooting left a 16-year-old boy fighting for life.
Officers have stepped up patrols in the London Road area after the gun attack on Monday afternoon.

A boy injured in the shooting was rushed to hospital and remains in a critical condition today.
As of yesterday, two arrests had been made, with boys aged 15 and 16 held on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.
The 15-year-old boy has been bailed pending further enquiries.

Inspector Amy Mellor, of Sheffield South West neighbourhood policing team, said extra police patrols were being carried out.
“We're on hand to answer your questions and reinforce the message that gun crime has absolutely no place in our communities as we continue to support the detective-led investigation,” she said.
“We know people within our communities will have answers and information around what happened on Monday.
“Officers are urging those who can help to report directly to the investigation team, or to Crimestoppers if you don’t feel comfortable talking to police.
“You can report to us via our Major Incident Portal here.
“My officers are continuing to support this fast-moving enquiry by being present and available to you,” she added.
“We have attended community and youth events over the past few days, and we'll be around London Road, Mount Pleasant Park and Abbeydale Road for the foreseeable future.
"I want to make it clear how important it is that you speak to us if you believe you have relevant information.
“Gun crime is not tolerated anywhere in our county and we're doing everything we can to bring a stop to it, but we need your help.
“What happened on Monday is absolutely unacceptable and at the heart of it is a critically injured 16-year-old boy and his heartbroken family."
“London Road is an extremely busy area and it will have been full of people going about their daily business at 5.15pm on Monday - when the incident was reported to us.
“If you know something or have relevant footage which could help the investigation team, please send it to us or start the process by having a conversation with an officer patrolling the area.”
