Large quantity of cash stolen from South Yorkshire ATM

Police are appealing for information after a large quantity of cash was stolen from a South Yorkshire ATM.

Shortly after 11.30pm on Monday, June 22, either two or three offenders reportedly illegally entered the Co-op store on Fenton Road in Rotherham and forcibly gained access to a cash machine.

A silver Toyota 4x4 believed to have been used in the incident was located nearby on Town Lane shortly afterwards.

Officers are now keen to hear from anyone who may have heard or seen anything suspicious in the area.

They would also like to remind business owners and staff with ATMs attached to or contained within their premises to report any suspicious activity to police at the earliest opportunity.

Anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 1005 of 22 June 2020 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
