A large stash of drugs was found when police raided two addresses on a busy Sheffield road yesterday (Sunday, April 12).

Officers swooped on Abbeydale Road in broad daylight and raided two properties simultaneously.

Police cars and vans blocked the roads while officers entered the addresses.

South Yorkshire Police confirmed the presence of armed officers in the raids yesterday and said they were ‘pre-planned’.

One of the addresses searched was Rehman’s butchers.

Today the force said: “South Yorkshire Police’s tactical support group was out yesterday back to doing what they do best and carrying out searches on Abbeydale Road, Sheffield, following the execution of two warrants.“During the searches 1kg of Class A and a quantity of Class B drugs were recovered.

“Three people have been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply and enquiries are ongoing.”

During the raids, officers were seen wearing personal protective equipment as they entered the addresses.
