Kerry Taylor, aged 41, is accused of killing a 55-year-old woman in a flat in Ravenscroft Place, Richmond, on Saturday, July 4.

Emergency services were called at 10.30pm and found a woman with stab wounds.

She was taken to hospital but could not be saved and was pronounced dead an hour later.

Taylor, of Ravenscroft Place, was charged over the death yesterday and remanded in police custody ahead of a hearing at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court today.

A 36-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder over the death was released under investigation after questioning.
