'It's impacting on my mental health' - dead rats ‘splatted’ on street in troubled Sheffield area

Dead rats have been spotted ‘splattered’ on the street in a troubled Sheffield neighbourhood, with one resident claiming the ongoing issues are affecting his mental health.

Pictures taken by in Page Hall which have been sent to The Star show more evidence of fly-tipping in the area as well as dead vermin in the street.

Vehicle tyres have been abandoned and a sofa and kitchen appliance have been left next to a rubbish bin.

The resident, who did not want to be named, said: “I’m begging for help. These scenes are having a impact on my mental health and wellbeing.”

Earlier this week another resident in the area complained about the “disgusting” issue of dead rats in the street.

Gill Furniss, the MP who represents the area, said earlier this week the council have worked with Yorkshire Water on the issue of vermin in Page Hall and authorities will continue to ‘do their best’ to tackle the issues.
