Investigation into Sheffield gun attack continues after man is shot in broad daylight

An investigation into a gun attack in Sheffield is continuing today after a man was shot on a busy street in broad daylight.

The man, aged in his 20s, was shot in the Bramall Lane area of the city on Friday afternoon.

South Yorkshire Police said the force was alerted to the incident at around 1pm after paramedics treated him for gunshot wounds.

He was taken to hospital for treatment and an investigation was launched.

Police sealed off the crime scene and began a witness trawl.

The injured man staggered into the Premier store on the corner of Bramall Lane and Cherry Street to raise the alarm.

Police are in the local area carrying out initial enquiries and an investigation is in its very early stages.
