Ali, known as Black Johnny, Gulaid and Madman, is believed by police to have played a part in the death of 47-year-old Shaun Lyall, who was battered with golf clubs, screwdrivers, a knife, scissors and a length of wood in his home.

The motive is said to have been missing drugs and cash that Mr Lyall was supposed to have been looking after.

Craig Whittle 45, of Corporation Road, Grimsby, was jailed for life over the murder but jurors in his trial were told that Ali was also involved.

He continues to evade arrest by ignoring repeated appeals for him to come forward to help police with their enquiries.

As well as links to Sheffield, Ali is said to have connections to Wembley, Birmingham, Milton Keynes, Grimsby and Blackpool.

He recently featured on an episode of the BBC’s Crimewatch Roadshow, in which members of the public were urged not to approach him directly but to dial 999 if spotted.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call Humberside Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
