Hunt for killer continues as Sheffield detectives investigate another fatal stabbing in city

While an investigation into the fatal stabbing of 18-year-old Isaiah Usen-Satchell in Norfolk Park on New Year’s Day is gathering pace, detectives in Sheffield are still trying to solve another fatal knife attack in the city for which nobody has yet been charged.

Kavan Brissett, 21, was stabbed to death off Langsett Walk, Upperthorpe, on Saturday, August 14, 2018.

He underwent emergency surgery but could not be saved and died in hospital four days later.

Although four men – Derice Cohen and Ethan Hallows, both 18; Travis O’Grady, 19 and Jason Baker, 29 – have been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery as part of the investigation into the murder nobody has yet been charged over the death.

Detectives believe 30-year-old Ahmed Farrah could hold vital information about the stabbing.

Despite repeated appeals for information on his whereabouts he has not been traced.

Farrah, who is also known as ‘Reggie’ and has links to Broomhall, was last seen in Cardiff one month after Kavan’s death but then disappeared.

Before that, he was captured on CCTV cameras at the minor injuries clinic at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, where he was treated for facial injuries on the night Kavan was stabbed.

He also returned to the hospital the following day.

It is believed he was injured in the same incident in which Kavan was stabbed.

A £5,000 Crimestoppers reward is available for information leading to his arrest but it has so far failed to yield results.

Farrah’s friends, relatives and aquaintances have all been visited by police officers and served with harbouring notices, warning that they face prosecution if they are found to be shielding him.

Detectives believe that Kavan was killed in a ‘targeted’ attack.
