Hundreds of people lined street outside Sheffield man’s house as paramedics battled to save his life

An ambulance was sent to Willoughby Street, Page Hall, after a man in his 30s went into in cardiac arrest.

As paramedics battled to save his life, a 300-strong crowd gathered outside his house.

Police officers were called to help disperse the crowd while paramedics transferred the man into an ambulance and drove him to hospital, where he later died.

South Yorkshire Police said: “Just before 10pm last night, police received a call from the ambulance service, following concern for a man at a house in Willoughby Street.

“The man, in his 30s, was pronounced dead later that evening. His death is not being treated as suspicious.

“Officers assisted ambulance staff as a large number of people had gathered in the street and around the property.”
