The gang - made up of 11 men and three women - have been jailed for a combined sentence of 39 years and 2 months for their part in an organised crime group involved in a conspiracy to supply amphetamine across Humberside.

The arrests were all made as part of Operation Krypton, an investigation by the Humberside Police Serious and Organised Crime Unit into an organised crime group responsible for the supply of amphetamine to dealers across Hull, East Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire and Liverpool.

During the operation, which ran between June 2013 and March 2014, Humberside Police seized over 50 kilos of amphetamine which could have been cut with bulking agents to make double the amount with a street value of over £900,000.

In addition, £45,000 in cash was also seized.

Humberside Police said the gang - headed by 48-year-old Jeffrey James Taylor, of Elgar Road, west Hull - was well organised and took steps to evade police detection.

Beneath him was a hierarchy of people at different levels in the supply chain.

A Proceeds of Crime Act confiscation investigation is now underway in a bid to recover the assets of those involved in the gang.

Detective Inspector Simon Henrickson said: “Operation Kypton has been a lengthy and extremely thorough investigation undertaken to tackle an organised crime group dealing large quantities of Amphetamine across Humberside.

“The investigation involved police examining the activities of the group over a period of several months and orchestrating arrests as and when appropriate, in order to completely dismantle the organised crime group headed by Jeff Taylor.

“Humberside Police are determined to tackle organised crime groups operating in the force area and I hope the significant sentences show we can and will deal with them robustly to ensure they don’t continue to cause harm to people living in our neighbourhoods.”

Taylor, who pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply amphetamine got the longest sentence - seven years and four months behind bars.
