Huge cannabis farm worth £128,000 found just yards from Sheffield police station

A cannabis farm worth about £128,000 was discovered in a disused building just yards from a Sheffield police station.

Officers were called to Chapel Lane, Attercliffe – just off Attercliffe Road - at around 7.15am on Wednesday, 7 October following reports of suspicious activity at a disused building.

Upon arrival they found a 128-strong cannabis grow inside the building, which is located just 0.2 miles away from Attercliffe Police Station on Attercliffe Common.

Once ready for harvest, the plants would have a street value of £1000 each.

A spokesperson for Sheffield South East neighbourhood policing team said: “Darnall and Tinsley team were out causing disruption to people who choose to grow cannabis for a living .

“128 plants recovered and a number of forensic opportunities seized to try and identify the people responsible.”

No one has been arrested in connection with the grow so far and police enquires are ongoing.
