Huge cannabis farm uncovered on major Sheffield road after police called to 'disturbance'

Police found more than 200 cannabis plants in a drug den on a busy Sheffield road after reports of a disturbance outside.

Officers received a call at 4.38am yesterday after a man was seen attempting to gain access to a property on Woodseats Road, Woodseats, by kicking the front door.

He was then seen running away.

When officers arrived and searched the building they found more than 200 cannabis plants inside.

South Yorkshire Police said: “Police were called to a property in Woodseats Road, Sheffield at around 4.38am yesterday morning to reports of a disturbance.

“It is reported that a man attempted to gain access to the property by kicking the front door, before fleeing in the direction of Woodseats.

“On attending the scene officers discovered damage to the front door and on and entering the premises, police discovered a cannabis set up with more than 200 plants.

“An investigation has been launched and enquiries are ongoing.”
