ARMED police officers are investigating after a hoax call about a man with a gun.
Armed response vehicles were dispatched to the incident in Sheffield yesterday afternoon after it was reported a man armed with a handgun was in a car in Sheffield.
They reached the scene but there was no sign of the vehicle and officers say they are treating it as a hoax.
Posting details on their Twitter account the team – @GAKTL – said: “Guns and Knives Take Lives – so do hoax calls. Investigations ongoing to bring the caller to justice.”
The team is made up of 90 officers who regularly tweet about their activities.
Officers also deliver educational programmes in schools.
