The police cordon covers an area between Natwest and Sports Direct and an alleyway between both buildings.
Police officers are guarding the crime scene this morning, with one man claiming they arrived at around midnight.
Details on the nature of the incident under investigation this morning have not yet been released by South Yorkshire Police.
