Here's why police descended on Sheffield's Park Square last night

Police blocked off a major Sheffield road following an incident in the city centre last night.

Officers arrived at Park Square roundabout just before 11pm yesterday evening (Friday, June 12).

A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson confirmed that a female had been spotted on ‘the wrong side of the railings’ of Park Square bridge.

Around four police vehicles attended and blocked off the road while the incident ‘was brought to an end safely’.

They added that the female was now ‘safe and well’.
