Helicopter used in police search

the police helicopter in South Yorkshire spent a night flying over Dinnington looking for a stolen Transit van used in a burglary.

Offenders fled on foot and gave officers the slip on Friday.

The same night the helicopter crew was called to Stocksbridge to help officers on the ground look for a motorist who fled after failing to stop.

And at around 2.30am on Thursday the chopper was sent to Grimethorpe, Barnsley, to help look for offenders who fled from a stolen vehicle.

Police made one arrest.

Officers in Sheffield made three arrests in Lowedges on Sunday, of people suspected of stealing a bike from Coal Aston, Derbyshire.

The trio were quizzed by officers from Derbyshire Police.
