Heavy police presence on Sheffield street amid reports of shooting

Police officers have flooded a Sheffield suburb amid reports of a shooting.

Residents in the Berners Road and Villiers Close area of Arbourthorne said police cars, vans, detectives and CID officers arrived on the estate last night following reports of ‘a bang’ at 9.30pm.

Details have not yet been released by South Yorkshire Police, but the force confirmed that officers were deployed to the estate.

A police cordon was put in place while enquiries were carried out.
