The illegal motorist was behind the wheel of a BMW 4 series when he overtook a slow moving vehicle on Europa Way, which runs alongside South Yorkshire Police’s operations complex – where traffic officers are based.

A police car was coming in the opposite direction at that time and was forced to take evasive action to avoid a crash.

“You decide the best road to be discreet on, is the one that runs by the SYP ops support base.

“And while you’re on that road, you decide to overtake a slower moving vehicle. No one will notice, not even that fully marked traffic car coming towards you. You know, that one that has to take some quite drastic avoiding action to avoid a head on collision.
