Gun seized and men arrested after gang brawl in Doncaster street

Two men have been arrested, another has been taken to hospital and a gun seized after a bloody brawl in a Doncaster residential street this afternoon.

Officers were called to Bude Road in Balby shortly after lunchtime today following numerous reports of a group of men fighting in the street.

Police remain at the scene, which has been corodoned off, with an increased presence in the area as enquiries continue.

A spokesman said: “At 12.30pm, officers responded to numerous reports of a group of men fighting in Bude Road. One man has been taken to hospital with head injuries. Two others have been detained and are now in police custody.

“A suspected firearm has also been seized.

“There will be an increased number of officers in the area this afternoon as enquiries continue.”

A resident posted on Facebook: “There’s blood all over the path, walls and my car.”

The scene is just yards from where TV sitcom Still Open All Hours is filmed.
