Girl thrown from horse in Doncaster remains in hospital in Sheffield as police probe continues

A girl injured in Doncaster when a car driving too fast caused her horse to bolt remains in hospital in Sheffield.

The 13-year-old was riding along Joan Croft Lane around 5pm on Tuesday, January 9 when a car is believed to have driven past her horse too fast.

The was thrown from her horse and was taken to Sheffield Children’s Hospital with serious head injuries.

South Yorkshire Police said the car involved – a white Seat Leon with dark tinted windows and dark wheels – failed to stop.
