Fury as youths scale fence at Sheffield pre-school to smoke and drink

A pre-school in Sheffield says youths who scaled its fence to smoke and drink in the grounds risked their safety and that of its staff and chidren.

Holmhirst Pre-School in Woodseats said the culprits had been caught on camera trespassing on Tuesday, June 16.

Posting on Facebook, it said: “Can I ask the group of youths that scaled our fence on Tuesday evening to think before doing it again?

“We are in the midst of a pandemic and our PreSchool areas (including the outdoors areas) are sanitised for the safety of our staff and children.”

The pre-school in Woodseats Methodist Church Hall on Holmhirst Road reminded those responsible that large groups are still not allowed to congregate and everyone must observe social distancing, which they were not doing, adding that ‘it compromises safety for yourselves and our users’.

It said that although there was no damage on this occasion, earlier during the lockdown a window had been smashed.
