Fresh calls to find missing South Yorkshire man as police grow increasingly concerned

Police have issued fresh calls to find a missing 24-year-old Rotherham man as officers grow increasingly concerned for his safety.

South Yorkshire Police have released details of a confirmed sighting of missing Brinsworth man, Corey Mitchell and a new CCTV image in the hope they can locate him after he went missing on Sunday, July 5.

Officers are urging anyone who knows of the 24-year-old’s whereabouts to get in touch.

Corey was captured on CCTV on the junction of Duncan Street and Whitehall Lane in Rotherham at around 7.20am on Sunday 5 July.

He was last seen by his family at around 5am that morning and hasn’t been heard from since.

Corey was wearing a dark coloured hoody, dark tracksuit bottoms and black/grey wellies.

The missing 24-year-old was also said to be carrying an orange rucksack and his family want to know he is safe.

Detective Inspector Joanne Kemp said: “Our concerns for Corey’s safety are growing and his family are desperate for information about where he is.

“As well as this confirmed sighting on Duncan Street, we also know that Corey often goes walking along the train track at Brinsworth, down the back of Halfords and towards the Parkway.

“I would urge anyone who knows that area or who has been in that area over the last few days to think about whether they’ve seen him.”

Anyone with any information about where Corey is should contact police on 101, quoting incident number 599 of 5 July.
