“Our prosecutors have worked to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to court”
Five people have been charged and are set to appear in court following the murder of a newborn baby in Sheffield.
The CPS (Crown Prosecution Service) has revealed that Andrea Skopova, aged 20, Peter Horvath, 19, Peter Horvath, 38, and Nina Horvathova, 37, have been charged with murder, causing or allowing the death of a child, and perverting the course of justice by taking steps to conceal the killing of an infant after the baby girl’s death on Sunday, August 30.
A 15-year-old girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons due to her age, has been charged with perverting the course of justice.

All five are set to appear at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court today.
Police and paramedics rushed Holywell Heights in Wincobank on Sunday, August 30, after reports of concern for the safety of a baby girl.
Tragically, the newborn was pronounced dead at the scene, with a post mortem revealing that she died as a result of stab wounds.
Initially seven people were arrested, with two bailed and the other five detained for further questioning.
Lauren Costello, deputy chief Crown prosecutor at CPS Yorkshire and Humberside, said: “The Crown Prosecution Service has decided to prosecute four individuals with murder following a police investigation into the death of a newborn baby girl in the Wincobank area. A fifth person has also been charged with perverting the course of justice.
“Our prosecutors have worked to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to court and that it is in the public interest to pursue criminal proceedings.
“We have worked carefully with South Yorkshire Police as they carried out their investigation.
“We remind all concerned that proceedings against the defendants are active and they have the right to a fair trial.
“It is vital that there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in anyway prejudice these proceedings."
