Firefighters tackle spate of arson attacks in South Yorkshire

Firefighters dealt with a spate of arson attacks across South Yorkshire overnight.

In Doncaster, a wheelie bin set on fire in a skate park on Church Road, Edlington; a pile of rubbish was set on fire in an alleyway on Bainbridge Road, Balby and more rubbish was burnt on Princes Crescent, Edlington.

Barnsley firefighters dealt with a Range Rover and a Transit flat bed torched on Carr Green Lane, Mapplewell.

The flames also spread to a garage and caused heat damage to a neighbouring property.

They also dealt with a car torched on Genn Lane, Ward Green, Barnsley.

A taxi mini van went up in flames on Poole Road, Darnall, Sheffield, this morning but the fire was logged as accidental.
