Firefighters spent a night tackling a blaze involving a large area of pampas grass in a field.

The fire on Doncaster Road, Stainforth, was reported to emergency services at 9pm on Thursday.

It is believed to have been started deliberately.

Crews that night were also called out to deal with a pile of rubbish set alight at the bottom of a fire exit for a flat above a shop in Rotherham.

The fire on Laughton Road, Dinnington, damaged the outside of the property.
