Firefighters tackle blaze at Doncaster flat
An investigation has been launched by the police and fire service following a fire at a Doncaster flat that started in the early hours of this morning.
Crews from Dearne, Rotherham and Edlington stations were called out to the blaze in Maple Road, Mexborough just before 5am today.
A spokesman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said a male was out of the property by the time firefighters arrived on the scene, and did not need to be taken to hospital.

Hide AdHe continued: “A joint investigation between police and the fire service will now take place to determine the cause of the fire.”
The spokesman said he was not able to provide further details on the blaze.
Firefighters left the scene at around 5.30am.
