Fire crews rushed to a blaze at a derelict former Sheffield pub on Monday evening.

Three crews from South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue were called to a fire inside the former Springwood Hotel pub on Hastilar Road South after being alerted to the incident at 7.10pm.

Firefighters arrived at 7.15 and found nobody inside the building. They left at 8.30pm.

The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.

Posting online, residents said the building’s front doors had been open for several days.
