Fencing to curb bad behaviour

Have your say

Fencing has been put up to help prevent anti-social behaviour at bus shelters in Chesterfield town centre.

Work has been funded by Derbyshire Police for Chesterfield community safety partnership and involves blocking off alcoves in walls next to bus stops in Beetwell Street, near the rear of the Pavements Shopping Centre.

It has been carried out after bus passengers said they felt intimidated by groups of people gathering by the bus stops.

Coun Sharon Blank said: they hope to encourage youngsters to gather somewhere ‘more appropriate’.
