EX Sheffield Wednesday player Nile Ranger has been arrested and charged with criminal damage.

Police were called to a house in Enfield, north London, in the early hours of yesterday after a report of a disturbance.

Scotland Yard said officers arrived at the scene to find the front door of the property badly damaged.

Ranger, aged 21, who is a Newcastle striker, was arrested at the scene and was taken to a north-east London police station.

He is due at Enfield Magistrates’ Court today.

Ranger was on loan at Sheffield Wednesday last year and scored two goals, including the second in their 2-0 victory over Wycombe Wanderers on the final day of last season.
