Former Doncaster Rovers player-manager Kerry Dixon has pleaded not guilty to possessing cocaine.

The 53-year-old ex-striker of Jardine Way, Dunstable, Bedfordshire, appeared before Luton magistrates to deny having £100 to £150 worth of the drug. He will be tried at Luton Crown Court at a date yet to be fixed.

Dixon, who made his name with Chelsea and who was part of England’s 1986 World Cup squad, appeared in 16 matches for Rovers, scoring three times and was sacked in August 1997.
