Here’s everything we know so far about the latest tragedy.

- South Yorkshire Police said officers were called to reports of a stabbing on Horninglow Road in the Firth Park area shortly after midnight on Saturday

- A 35-year-old man was taken to hospital with stab wounds to his upper body but was sadly pronounced dead shortly after

- The man has not yet been named by officers

- Tributes have been paid to the victim, with one woman saying he was a ‘gentle and peaceful soul’

- Three other men – whose ages are not known – suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the incident and are receiving treatment

- Police described the incident as a ‘large-scale disturbance’ and some reports suggested as many as 200 people had been out on the street during the evening

- South Yorkshire Police said: “Detectives are carrying out enquiries and an investigation is underway to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding the incident. There will be an increased police presence in the area for the rest of the weekend,” they added
