South Yorkshire Police were called at 12 noon today (Friday, August 7) with reports that a Volkswagen vehicle had collided into the side of a lamppost at the bottom of Heavygate Road, Commonside.

The elderly couple who driving the car were taken to hospital, but are not thought to have been injured.

Heavygate road has is now reopen.
