Drunk and disorderly man fined after police are called out to Sheffield pub

An abusive booze-fuelled man has been fined after he admitted being drunk-and-disorderly.

Sheffield Magistrates’ Court heard on March 5 how Paul Barry Watson, 49, of Cowley Gardens, Westfield, Sheffield, was found by police being aggressive and abusive outside his home address on January 27.

Prosecuting solicitor David Marshall said: “Officers were directed to the Fox public house after the defendant had been there and he was very drunk and remained in the area and he was taken home by officers.

“And he became aggressive and abusive outside his home address and he was arrested for being drunk-and-disorderly.”

Watson, who has previous convictions, pleaded guilty to being drunk-and-disorderly in a public place.

The defendant told the court: I am sorry for what I have done.”

Magistrates fined Watson £40 and he was ordered to pay £85 costs and a £32 victim surcharge.
