Drugs seized in action on crime on Sheffield estate

These drugs are among items seized by police in Sheffield district this week as part of on ongoing crackdown on organised crime.

They were found by officers from the Sheffield North East neighbourhood policing team during their last seven days of action in the Burngreave area of the city.

A spokesman said: “It's been another busy week for the Burngreave team, tackling organised crime, violent crime, vehicle crime, ASB and much more.”

Officers today realed details of a string of arrests and operations which have taken place.

Arrests included a man being stopped for possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply; a man arrested for breach of his bail conditions; and a woman was detained for possession of a controlled drug and failure to appear at court

They also raided a cannabis factory discovered, ad carried out stop and searches as part of operations against organised crime.

The stop and searches saw both class A and class B drugs seized.

Three vehicles were seized for various driving offences, and a penalty notice was issued for public order offences.The spokesman added: “This is just a small amount of incidents officers have been involved in, along with proactive and reassurance patrols, numerous visits regarding various quality of life issues, joint work with partner agencies including Sheffield City council

“We will be working all weekend also, so please stay safe out there and don't hesitate to contact us with any reports, concerns or information you think we need to know.”
