Drugs factory uncovered as police storm house in Sheffield

A drugs factory was discovered during a police raid of a house in Sheffield.

South Yorkshire Police said a ‘substantial quantity’ of Class B drugs were found in the Wincobank drug den.

The Sheffield North East neighbourhood policing team said: “And as our method of entry officer hit the door with the big red key he broke all the hinges and the door went crashing in.

“As the rest of the team entered they detained a male in his 30s on suspicion of drug offences and recovered a substantial quantity of Class B drugs.

“We also noticed some unusual electrical work in the property and when the main fuse box was examined by professionals it was established someone had done a sneaky bypass of the meter and the occupants of the drugs factory were abstracting the electricity.

“The suspect was subsequently interviewed by officers and is currently released under investigation whilst we continue our enquiries into the drugs factory and the people responsible.”
