Sheffield Magistrates’ Court heard on March 24 how Karol Urbanowski, 20, of no fixed address, was spotted by police driving a VW Golf on Firth Park Road, Sheffield, on October 24 and when they spoke to him they could smell cannabis.Toni McCann, prosecuting, said: “When officers spoke to him and could smell cannabis a roadside test was conducted and proved positive.”Urbanowski pleaded guilty to driving when the proportion of a drug, a cannabis derivative, in his blood exceeded the specified limit.District Judge Naomi Redhouse sentenced Urbanowski to a £100 fine which she said was equal to one day in custody and that was deemed served by the defendant because he had been remanded so there was nothing for him to pay.But Urbanowski was disqualified from driving for 12 months.
