Driver flees the scene after flipping car onto its roof in Sheffield roundabout crash

A police hunt is under way for the driver of an abandoned car found on its roof on a roundabout after a crash.

The damaged car was found upside down on the Greenhill Parkway at around 10.40pm yesterday.

When emergency services arrived, the driver and any other possible passengers in the car had left the crash scene.

The incident blocked the road for some time while arrangements were made to remove the vehicle and clear up debris from the carriageway.

South Yorkshire Police said: “We received a call at 10.40pm last night with reports that a car had been in collision with the central reservation on the Greenhill Parkway.

“Officers attended the scene but any occupants had left the scene on our arrival.

“Enquiries are continuing.”
