Driver attacked by passenger on Sheffield bus in violent argument over payment

Officers in Sheffield have released a picture of a man they want to speak to in connection with an assault on a bus driver in May.

A man allegedly boarded the number 79 First Group bus on Friday, May 29 in the Totley area and got into a fight with the driver over payment.

It is reported that the suspect assaulted the driver by punching him in his face.

He then got off the bus and headed in the direction of Mickley Lane.

Officers are keen to speak to the man pictured in the CCTV image in connection to the assault, which led to a bus driver being punched in the face.

Anyone who recognises the suspect in the picture, or witnessed the attack should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 and quote incident number 397 of 25 May 2020.
